bleh… banks

I went to the bank this morning to try to sort out some financial garble.  blech!  Even when they’re nice they’re terrible.  It wouldn’t have been so bad if I hadn’t been faced with someone who was pretending to be nice.  Seriously, she did a good job: compassionate yet firm, sympathetic yet disinterested.  She was good at what she was doing, but I think she was expecting me to cry or be discouraged or dejected by her unwillingness to help me.  Weird.  Like I’m going to let one person rain on my parade.

The important thing wasn’t the bank, or the woman, it was the reminder that I DO NOT want to go back to corporate land.  I have no interest is being seen through the lens of my financial, academic, or work history stats. BORING! and annoying.  I’m tired of being involved in a world where people relate to each other based on what can be put on paper.  What is YOUR official story?  Is it what I’m looking for?  Does your paper match me? Does it match what I’m looking for?  AAARRGGG!!!  Put down the paper!

This paper based judgment rankled me even when I looked REALLY good on paper.  Its… just… so… so… *shudder*

On the up side I have a wonderful new painting.  I’ll post a pic as soon as I give it to the birthday recipient.  yay!
